Gillette India's quarterly profit rises on strong grooming product demand
Gillette India reported a second-quarter profit increase to 1.26 billion rupees, buoyed by strong demand for its grooming products. Revenue from its core grooming segment rose 11 per cent. The company's advertising expenses increased by nearly 30 per cent to compete with cheaper private labels. Meanwhile, its oral care segment saw an 8 per cent drop in sales.
